Three new coronavirus cases discovered in northern Italy

Looking to prevent a further spread of the virus, officials urged residents of the northern towns of Codogno and Castiglione d’Adda to stay at home and avoid any social gatherings.

The man, now being cared for in isolation in hospital, is said to be in a “very serious” condition

“We still do not know from whom the virus spread, it may not be from case zero but it could also be that it has recovered. We are not sure what the index case is,” explained Alderman Gallera. “We recovered the index case, returned from China on January 21, now at the Sacco. He did the checks immediately, he is fine and had no symptoms, except for a slight fever,”

Police have reconstructed his movements over the last four days, when he went running and to work, played football and too part in three dinners.
The man works for a multinational based in Casalpusterlengo.
The police are also trying to reconstruct what his wife did, and whom she met, over the last few days.
She is believed to have had fewer contacts than him.
The friend with whom he dined, meanwhile, has been taken to Milan’s Sacco Hospital.
He is in isolation there.    The man’s family members have been placed in isolation, sources said.
